Knowing a good solar pasta recipe that you can fall back on when you need it is important. Pasta is cheap, easily accessible, and is easy to make.
When talking to people about the Sun Oven, I often get questions about what can and
cannot be cooked in the Sun Oven and pasta always comes up. My answer is,
“Yes, it can be done, but I generally don't do it.”

There are a number of reasons why I don’t boil pasta in my solar oven for daily cooking. Apart from the fact the pasta is easier, and in my opinion better, when cooked in the traditional manner, it also needs to be served immediately; most people have dinner too late in the day to solar cook pasta and be able to eat it immediately.
But it’s still good to know that it is possible to make a decent bowl of solar cooked noodles. Solar pasta comes in handy in any kind of situation where you might be low on water or power, such as a camping trip or a natural disaster.
Luckily, once you know how to successfully solar cook pasta you can store the
information away for a time when you might need it.
What Kind of Pasta Can I Use?
You can really decide that for yourself. You can use macaroni, spaghetti, rigatoni, shells, or anything else.
How Long Should I Cook the Solar Pasta?
Cooking time will depend on the type of pasta used.
The trickiest part is knowing when it’s done. You will have to be a little flexible here. You can either watch for the glass door of your oven to show condensation, and then start checking doneness or you can just start checking after about 20 minutes.
