Solar Crustless Quiche recipe

This crustless solar quiche recipe is the kind of recipe that is very easy to fiddle with. I’d recommend jazzing it up with your favorite vegetables or other add-ins; chopped spinach and crumbled bacon come to mind.

If you do add any meats, like bacon or sausage, cook the meat separately before you put it in the quiche egg mixture. Otherwise, the cooking grease is going to ruin your quiche.

If you want to get real creative you could personalize each quiche according to the individual tastes of each family member, kind of like an omelet station in your own
back yard. The quiche cooks already made into individual servings, so this would be a pretty easy thing to do.

How to Make Solar Crustless Quiche

These are super easy to make. While this recipe is written as though you're cooking in the Sun Oven, you can also cook in the kitchen oven too. Just go at about 25-30 minutes at 325 degrees.

I find that metal cookware works best in the Sun Oven for eggs or any other recipe that has a short cooking time. So, a muffin pan works great. You can also use enamelware mugs. In a pinch you can use ceramic ramekins if that's all you have.

  1. Set Sun Oven out to preheat. Or preheat your indoor oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Spray the muffin pan with cooking spray.
  3. Gently heat the milk until just warm. About 5 minutes in the Sun Oven will do.
  4. Combine all ingredients and beat until well blended. Divide mixture evenly into muffin pan or mugs.
  5. Place in the Sun Oven and bake 25 to 30 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve at room temperature.

Equipment

  • 1 Sun Oven
  • 1 Muffin pan with 6 spaces Ramekins or enamelware mugs will work

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Milk whole or 2%
  • 3 Eggs at room temperature
  • ¾ cup Gruyere cheese grated
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne

Instructions
 

  • Set Sun Oven out to preheat
  • Spray muffin pan with cooking spray.
  • Gently heat the milk until just warm. About 5 minutes in the Sun Oven will do.
  • Combine all ingredients and beat until well blended. Divide mixture evenly into muffin pan. Place muffin pan in Sun Oven and bake in SO 25 to 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes remove from oven and let cool. Serve warm at room temperature.
